
Magazine becomes official partner at European Association of Sport Management Conference
The European Capital of Sport Magazine (ECSM) has become an official media partner of the 19 Conference of the European Association for Sport Management to take place in Madrid, for the first time in September.
For the past 20 years EASM hosts the most important European Sport Management event gathering a large group of international experts, academics and professionals, to share the results of their research and experience.
This year the organization is managed by GB Consulting, with the support of Madrid Town Hall, the Community of Madrid, the Spanish National Sports Council, the Madrid Convention Bureau, the European University of Madrid and its higher education college, Real Madrid, IE (Instituto de Empresa) Business School, the UAM University and the MeliaCastilla Hotel, where the event will be hosted.
Gerardo Bielons, Chair of the Organising Committee of the Conference and General Manager of GB Consulting said: “We are proud to count on a media partner such as the European Capital of Sport which will allow us to transmit the calibre of the 19th conference on a European level.
“Our speakers include renowned personalities such as Emilio Butragueño, Director of the International School of Real Madrid Studies and Stefano Bernabino, Chief Editor of Eurosport. Other media partners are Eurosport, Capital Humano and Sport Business. The colaboratin with ECSM will assit us in projecting the activity of the EASM and to promote Madrid as a neuralgic centre for sport affairs on a global scale.”

Raquel Picornell, chief editor of the ECSM and Communication Director of the Association of European Capitals of Sport (ACES) expressed her satisfaction over the deal.
“The magazine was launched this year to promote the activities of the Association as well as any activity that promotes the values of grassroots sports in Europe.
“We are completely interested in the work of the EASM and we are committed in diffusing its excellent content at all levels to ensure the required media response.”
ACES is a non-profit organisation which has spent the past decade supporting rassroots sport in e¡Eurpean countries where it is present via de nomination of European towns, cities and Capitals of Sport. This year Valencia is the European Capital of Sport.
Madrid, a capital loyal to sport since it received the award of European Capital of Sport 2001 will host the sport experts on the 8th,9th and 10th of September at the MeliaCastilla Hotel, focusing mainly on the professionalization of sport, geared towards “helping to plan and clear unknown factors in sports management.
At a ceremony held by the Madrid Convention Bureau to recognise Mr.Bielons’efforts to promote Madrid as a conference destination he adds:

The capital, anatural gateway to the Latin American continent, offers the perfect combination of factors for it to host the conference.
